Big News!!!

Before I share my big news I want to apologize because this is going to be a picture heavy post. I have ALOT to share.

So let me start at the beginning. This morning as you know Jeremy and I went to pick up our marriage license.

We decided a few days ago to go ahead and do a small ceremony today so we can get me in the system faster and to make sure I can go to Japan with Jeremy. We invited my parents and my sister to come down as witnesses. It was a quick 10 minute ceremony but it was sweet. Yes, I cried. We didn’t exchange rings because we want to leave as much as possible for our big wedding on March 28th.

After the ceremony, we all went out to lunch at the Flying Fish Market and Grill. It was amazing food. If you ever go I recommend the beer battered catfish poboy. It was amazing!

My amazing parents surprised us with an amazing cake from Croissants Bistro and Bakery. It was a white Russian cake. It was amazing!!!

We came back this afternoon because it is Michael’s birthday today. We met him, Jessica, Harley, Seth, Peter, and Facemire at Shogun’s. Its a hibachi grill here in Jacksonville. Pretty much anytime we have something to celebrate we all go to Shogun’s. Its the nicest restaurant in Jacksonville. I love the decor and the fish.

During dinner Harley decided she wanted to sit beside me and Harley. She also stole my phone at one point to take selfies with me and Jeremy.

Jessica got Michael an amazing Batman cake (he is obsessed with Batman).

Once the cake was cut Michael couldn’t eat like a normal person. Nope he had to eat it off a knife.

Michael isn’t your normal person but that is what makes him so much fun. He is also a great friend. I love both him and Jessica.

Jeremy and I are blessed to have such great friends. We will miss them greatly when we leave.

All and all today was perfect.

  1. Congratulations!! My husband and I also went ahead and had a “court house wedding” a year before our big to do wedding to get everything in the system and done!

    1. The court house wedding was what we wanted previously but both our parents promised to murder us if we didn’t do a real wedding. They finally came around to the court house wedding when the orders came because we agreed to keep on with the big wedding. Its crazy all the stuff you have to do once you’re married to a military person! I wish there was a class to prep you on where to go and when and what to expect. Lol

      1. I agree!! No one really tells you anything you just have to figure it all out once you get there! The military life is so complicated sometimes haha

      2. I thought about buying some of those military spouse handbooks but I figure some would post it on one of those dependa sites. I don’t want end up on there.

  2. Congrats! And I LOVE Hibachi! No Joke! I could eat it every single day of my life! 😉 Although for now we are on a hibachi hiatus as my two year old daughter has decided that she is terrified not only of the fire, but the concept all together. The minute we walk in the door and hear the clanging of the juggling spatulas she is screaming and running from the door, there is no consoling her.

P.S. That cake is awesome btw!

    1. Awwww. Poor munchkin! And poor mama for sacrificing the hibachi! Hibachi is amazing. I wish I knew how to do it at home so I could have it more often. Except for the twirling knives part. I don’t want to lose a finger or a cat… Lol

  3. Congratulations on your recent marriage! My husband and I also had a courthouse wedding. It was just the two of us and the county clerk who filed our paperwork. It was a cold, rainy Tuesday morning; and it was perfect. I wouldn’t change a thing. I’m sure your formal wedding will be beautiful and memorable, but I’m betting that many years down the road, it will be the memories of your courthouse wedding that you cherish most. Best wishes for a long and happy life together.

    1. Jeremy and I originally wanted a small courthouse wedding. Small and informal are more our style but both our parents threatened to murder us if we did it. They both wanted a big celebration. I’m just happy we are married and going to grow old together. How long have you been married?

      1. Small and informal is our style, too. It’s wonderful that you’ll get the best of both worlds. We’ve been married for about seventeen months now–since October 2013.
